Dance Safety Guidelines
Important Safety Information for Dance Moves
All dance moves and clips featured on this site were demonstrated by experienced dancers who have practiced these techniques extensively. Please keep the following safety guidelines in mind:
-
Practice Required: The moves shown are meant to serve as reminders for those who have attended dance classes, not as primary learning material for new dancers, especially for complex moves.
-
Partner Awareness: Always be attentive to your dance partner to ensure you don't cause them harm. Communication and mutual respect are essential.
-
No Untested Moves at Events: Never attempt an unrehearsed move at a dance event, even if you think it might work. Untested moves can seriously injure your follower.
-
Seek Proper Instruction: For learning new moves, especially complex ones, always seek guidance from qualified dance instructors in a controlled learning environment. Just by looking at a move, it is not obvious how it is led. This is why it is especially important to get a feel for it through proper instruction.
Remember: Dance should be enjoyable and safe for everyone involved. Prioritize safety over attempting impressive moves.
